“For the last few events we have been testing the live feeds at a discounted rate and are very happy with the EFC AFRICA experience at the Nu Metro cinemas. The larger than life screen, commentary and replays, plus great atmosphere, has kept the fans coming back for more and we have been getting fantastic feedback after every live broadcast” says EFC AFRICA president Cairo Howarth. “We now have an opportunity to enhance the cinema experience and to open all cinemas countrywide, allowing more fans to experience EFC AFRICA on the big screen.”

From EFC AFRICA 11 onwards, cinema-going fans will receive the official EFC AFRICA Event Guide free with all the athletes’ information and fight-card details, plus the cinemas will host star EFC AFRICA athletes for fans to interact with.

Additionally the cinemas will now also broadcast every bout on the fight card, so fans will see all the action as it happens on the larger than life screen, as if they were sitting in front row seats at the event. The cinema experience starts as the live event starts at 5pm and will broadcast the full 7+ hour event.

In order to be able to bring you all the action at every Nu Metro cinema countrywide, the ticket prices are now split into two categories:

Out-of-town cinemas (the cinemas located outside of the host city that the live event is held) – R 125 a ticket, including the Event Guide and all bouts live
In-town cinemas (the cinemas in the same or neighbouring city that the live event is being held) – R 185 a ticket, including the Event Guide and all bouts live

Watching at Nu Metro cinemas or attending the live events are the only options for fans to see all the bouts live. The international TV networks (outside South Africa) and the online streaming (worldwide) will broadcast the last five main-card bouts live.

Select main-card bouts will be broadcast on e.tv just weeks after the live event.

EFC AFRICA 11 can be watched live at the following cinemas: Hyde Park, Bedford Centre, The Glen, Canal Walk, V&A Waterfront, Pavilion, Menlyn Park, Loch Logan, Riverside, Klerksdorp, Walmer Park, Montecasino, Clearwater Mall, Brightwater Commons, Boardwalk, Grandwest, Emperors Palace, Hatfield Plaza, N1 City, North Park Mall, Worcester, Benoni Lakeside Mall and Galleria.
