Two Bouts Added To EFC AFRICA 16 Fight Card

Johannesburg (South Africa) – Two more exciting bouts have been added to the EFC AFRICA 16 fight card! Six bouts have been confirmed so far, leaving another seven to still be revealed. Don’t miss Africa’s premier mixed martial arts event!

At middleweight, Boksburg’s JP ‘Tinkerbell’ Kruger takes on Alberton’s Tyron ‘The Rush’ Rightford. Kruger, a former national kickboxing champion, is undefeated after two bouts at EFC AFRICA so far, both wins coming by submission. Rightford was on a three-win streak until EFC AFRICA 15, where he tasted defeat for the first time. The karate striker is eager to redeem himself and halt Kruger’s progress in the division.

At featherweight, Centurion’s Gareth Buirski will face Pretoria’s Markus Taljaard. Both hold professional records of 2 wins, 1 loss backed up by impressive amateur credentials. Buirski suffered an agonising third round guillotine choke loss at EFC AFRICA 14 in June, while Taljaard secured a third round triangle choke win at the same event. Both are extremely resilient, increasing the chances of a tough, drawn out war.

EFC AFRICA 16, presented by MusclePharm, takes place at the Carnival City Big Top Arena on 19 October. Tickets on sale at Computicket www.computicket.com and tickets for the live broadcast to Nu Metro Cinemas available soon at www.numetro.co.za. The three main card bouts will be broadcast live across Africa on e.tv, starting at 22h30 CAT.
