Stars And New Talent Bolster The First Fight Card Of 2013

Johannesburg (South Africa) – Another five top match-ups have been confirmed for EFC AFRICA 18, presented by MusclePharm, on 1 March at Carnival City, leading up to the highly anticipated re-match for the heavyweight title between undefeated champion Ruan ‘Fangzz’ Potts and iron-jawed Andrew ‘One Gear’ van Zyl.

Former welterweight champion Dallas Jakobi (6-4) is making the cut down to lightweight where he will take on former title contender Alex ‘The Professor’ Cheboub (9-7).

Highly rated kickboxing fundi Jason ‘JMC’ Culverwell (2-0) faces off with South African born and U.K. champion Fraser Opie. Opie left for the U.K. in 2003 where he has racked up an impressive MMA résumé (10-5), and now returns to African shores to fight for EFC AFRICA gold.

Tyron ‘The Rush’ Rightford (3-1) drops to welterweight where he will face David Buirski (3-1) in a talented clash of skills.

A knockout is looming as two top strikers clash when heavyweights Ricky ‘Apocalypse’ Misholas (2-1) and Sors ‘Guru’ Grobbelaar (0-1) go to war.

Ian Visser (0-1) cuts to light heavyweight where he takes on EFC AFRICA newcomer Chris ‘Danger’ Du Pont (2-0).
