Johannesburg (South Africa) – Daniel Sinclair has had to withdraw from his EFC AFRICA 19 prelim card bout against Dino ‘The Lion’ Bagattin due to a cruciate ligament knee injury sustained during training. Tyron ‘The Rush’ Rightford, fresh from his victory over David Buirksi at EFC AFRICA 18, was offered the fight as a replacement, and agreed, but Bagattin’s camp has declined.
“As always we were unhappy to hear that Daniel suffered an injury,” says EFC AFRICA matchmaker Graeme Cartmell. “We see him as a rising star in the division and were excited to see how he would fare against a fighter of Dino’s calibre. We felt Tyron [Rightford] would be the perfect replacement. A match between the two would be an epic battle, unfortunately Dino’s camp has not agreed.”
Only two weeks out from his previous fight camp Rightford was fit and ready to step in. “I’ve been wanting this fight ever since I dropped to welter,” he says. “I’ve been watching Dino for a while.”
