Johannesburg (South Africa) – This Saturday Fightstar 5 takes African MMA a step forward with an amateur event featuring athletes from South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.

Fighting Fit & EFC AFRICA Development athletes Cassim Khusu, Joseph Phutiagae and Onameditse Dikgomo (Botswana) will all be competing on the night.

“Fightstar gives these amateur athletes the platform to show case their skills to EFC AFRICA Scouts in the hope of one day competing in Africa’s biggest professional MMA promotion,” said Pietro Cignoli,Fighting Fit Africa’s program director.

Fighting Fit is an initiative designed to give underprivileged youngsters access to MMA training and lifestyle, offering them a means to better themselves and their communities through health and dedication.

Fighting Fit athletes train at Edenvale’s World of Warriors gym, where they are coached by some of EFC AFRICA’s top athletes.

Fightstar 5 takes place @ the Mandeville Sports arena corner 10th Avenue and 7th Street Bez Valley/Kensington. Tickets R150 each. Queries at
