Johannesburg (South Africa) – On 6 November we see two of the top EFC light heavyweights go to war. For the DRC behemoth it is just another step towards EFC gold as he looks to go three and zero. For the South African boxer, it is about reaffirming his dominance. This is the main event of the EFC 35 Ster-Kinekor Prelims… This is Champion Dalcha versus Danie ‘Pitbull’ van Heerden.
Van Heerden is an EFC veteran with some of the largest experience inside of the Hexagon, having fought for the title in the light heavyweight division. In his most recent bout, against the ever-destructive Tumelo Maphuta, he showcased how durable his jaw was and etched a close decision loss.
Now van Heerden is looking for his revival. Having to deal with Dalcha’s technical Judo throws, this will be a test like no other for him. Will his boxing and wrestling be enough to fend off the aggressive Dalcha?
Champion Dalcha is a man of few words and on a mission. His mission is the EFC light heavyweight title belt, and Danie van Heerden is standing in his way.
Dalcha is coming off a two fight win streak. The most recent of which was at EFC 34 against kickboxer Pete Motaung. He took this fight on short notice to replace Tumelo Maphuta and dominated his opposition to win via an arm bar submission in round one. This sent a shock wave through the division with him claiming that he is coming for the belt.
Van Heerden comes with a new challenge. He is vastly experienced and armed with world-class boxing skills and take down defence. This step up in competition will surely prove if Dalcha belongs in the upper tiers of the division or not.
