Cape Town, South Africa – EFC Cape Town draws nearer headlined by the vacant heavyweight championship fight and the highly anticipated match-up between number one contender Irshaad Sayed and Cedric Doyle. Another big fight has just been added to the 23 April card hosted at GrandWest. DRC’s undefeated Kaleka ‘Block’ Kabanda will take on the controversial Mark Hulme.

Kabanda has done what few have been capable of in the deepest division in EFC, having won all three of his appearances since his debut. With an even spread of TKO’s, submissions and decision victories, Kabanda has shown to be a fully versatile fighter and an incredible athlete with brutish strength. Featuring on the main card for the first time, he will be seeking vengeance for his fellow country man Francois Kabulu, whom his upcoming opponent Hulme last defeated.

The controversial Hulme is set to make his third appearance in front of a Cape Town audience. Last time out, he put on a wrestling clinic against Kabulu to show he is a future contender and previously won a three round decision and ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus against Cape Town favourite Shaun de Lange. A bloody war that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final bell.

Both men are incredibly hungry to prove themselves and reach the upper echelon of the stacked welterweight division. Each man will be the perfect testing ground for doing just that.

This massive fight takes place on the main card just ahead of the vacant heavyweight title fight between former champion Brendon Groenewald and Danie van Heerden.

EFC 48: Groenewald vs. Van Heerden is presented by BetXchange.com, takes place Saturday 23 April 2016 at GrandWest, Cape Town. Tickets available soon at www.computicket.com.
