Johannesburg, South Africa – The final fight on the EFC 62 main card has just been revealed. South African stalwart Gareth Buirski will take on undefeated Englishman Cal ‘Pacino’ Ellenor. They meet at a catchweight of 65kg.
Buirski, who trains at team CIT in Pretoria is renowned for his aggressive, fast paced style. Always hunting the KO finish. As good as Buirski is, he has just always fallen short just before that elusive EFC title shot.
A knee injury stalled his career, but thereafter he has been on a tear. In two incredible three-round wars he has gathered unanimous decision victories over Brazilian Magno Alves and former title contender Baldwin Mdlalose.
A victory over the undefeated Englishman will surely put him into a title fight conversation.
Ellanore is Buirski’s highest profile opponent so far. Undefeated in five fights, ‘Pacino’ has finished all comers. Hailing from Team Fish Tank, where he trains alongside heavyweight and fellow EFC athlete Tony Mustard, he will be primed and ready to make it six.
This fight takes place on the main card just ahead of the featherweight title fight between the DRC’s Igeu Kabesa and South African Pierre Botha.
