Johannesburg, South Africa – EFC 67 saw rising stars make their mark, a champion crowned and legacies cemented, but what often comes with success, is a cost. Three athletes were admitted to hospital post event for checkups, Gordon Roodman, Serge Kasanda and Danella Eliasov.
Eliasov suffered a fractured jaw in the first round from Penco’s laser-like punches. She underwent a successful surgery late last week at the Netcare Rosebank Hospital. “I am out of hospital and recovering at home now,” stated Eliasov.
Gordon Roodman and Serge Kasanda were admitted to hospital on the night for injuries sustained in the Hexagon. Roodman for scans for an unintentional blow to the groin and Kasanda for stitches from a cut on his forehead. Both men are recovering without any serious effects.
