KABESA CEMENTS HIS LEGACY OF GREATNESS

Johannesburg, South Africa – Featherweight Champion Igeu Kabesa kept his belt in emphatic fashion with the sixth first-round finish of his stellar career with a TKO win over the previously undefeated challenger Bradley Swanepoel.

With a series of precision strikes, ‘Smiley’ immediately had ‘The Nightmare’ on the back foot and closed-out the fight after knocking his opponent down to force the referee’s intervention. With half an eye on entering other international promotions and the other on a possible run in the EFC Lightweight division, the future remains incredibly bright for the three-time champion, whilst Swanepoel voiced his desire to return on the very first card of 2023.

The judges had an easy night with the entire event containing only two decision victories, leaving nine athletes walking away with superb finishes, seven of which were all in the first round. Fans were treated to a night of combat action that moved at breakneck pace with several outstanding performances and electric debuts which provided massive permutations across a variety of divisions, notably the heavyweight category following the stunning victory of Adama Diop from Senegal over the veteran Cameroonian Nico Yamdjie as well as the impressive return of Kaleka Kabanda who called for the belt immediately following his submission win over JT Botha. With EFC 100 just around the corner on the 1st of December containing three incredible title fights, the athletes competing at EFC 99 made sure that tonight’s event will live long in the memories of fight fans around the world.

Below are the full results and performance bonuses.
