Fighters Biography

What do you do for fight preparation?

For me the intensity of training is simply much higher. We focus on all aspects of the game such as conditioning, pad work, drilling techniques, sparring, grappling and clinch work.

When and why did you start martial arts training?

I started in January 2010. I watched the movie Never Back Down with some mates and just thought how cool would it be to be able to fight like that! Once I started training I was addicted.

What ranks and titles have you held?

I was the undefeated KwaZulu Natal Amateur Bantamweight Champion. At the moment I am the current MFC South African Pro Bantamweight Champion.

Tell us about your most memorable fight.

My most memorable fight will have to be my last fight that was against Kurt Matthews for the title. I had previously lost twice to him, once in a split decision and another time I got caught in a silly submission. It was a very sweet victory!

What is your favourite technique?

Ground and Pound!

What other interesting information can you tell us about yourself?

I am currently studying a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) degree which I should finish this semester. Otherwise what you see is what you get. Oh, and I’m VERY competitive!
