Fighters Biography
When and why did you start training martial arts?
I saw the old K1 times on TV and wanted to try kickboxing and that’s when I felt in love with the sport
How did you transition to MMA?
I did judo when I was younger, my mom is a black belt in judo so it was my first sport. Then after a while I did kickboxing fights I missed the ground game and I wanted to try something new. Thats was when I started training BJJ.
What achievements, ranks and titles have you held?
I’m the K1 Dutch, European and Krush world champion and I’m the European boxing champion
How did you get your fight name?
I don’t have any LOL. Everybody just know me as Mellony and nothing more.
What is your favourite technique, and why?
I like to strike of course, but I feel okay also on the ground. But I like boxing a lot.
Who is your hero, and why?
I don’t have a hero or someone I look up to.
What other interesting information can you tell us about yourself (hobbies, work, fun, outside of gym)?
I’m a personal trainer next to my fighting and own training. But I like to have fun with my friends as much as I can besides my fighting. I go out in the weekend, I don’t drink, but I like to party and have fun. I don’t like to sit the whole day at home or training only.
What does it mean for you to fight in the EFC?
It’s a big opportunity for me. It’s a great promotion and where I can grow!
