Fighters Biography
Fight preparation?
My training is getting more refined, in both stand-up and conditioning through hell or high water.
When and why did you start training for fighting?
Back in school I was one of the quiet guys that took a lot of shit – until matric. In 2000 I started getting into fights and a teacher recommended I go for anger management. After a session or two they suggested I keep busy with a contact sport. I began Muaythai in 2001 but only really got serious about it in 2007. After winning a title and establishing myself as a strong stand-up fighter I was approached by EFC AFRICA. I was an MMA fan, so I thought I’d try it out. Even though I got a fat hiding in my first fight, and then another one, I haven’t looked back and I’m improving all the time.
What ranks and titles have you held?
Two-time cruiserweight Muaythai champion.
Favourite technique:
Escapes, flurries of strikes.
Other interesting info?
I have grey hair and I’m in my 20’s?
What do you do when not training or fighting?
Working! I’m one of those fighters who haven’t yet managed to make fighting pay the bills. I work from 7am to 5pm in the construction and renovation industry, so my training has to fit in around that.
