Sun City, South Africa – EFC 50 is just nine days away and excitement is building! Earlier today EFC matchmaker Graeme Cartmell received word that two athletes had been forced to withdraw from their scheduled EFC 50 bouts. DRC’s Pupanga Tresor and South Africa’s Amos Hlatswayo will not be competing due to injury and illness and have subsequently been replaced by Johannesburg’s ultra-tough Sydney ‘Machine Gun’ Mokgolo and Durban’s exciting Sifiso Ngcobo, respectively.

Mokgolo has been competing in EFC since EFC 34 and has faced some of the organisation’s best in Alain Ilunga and Themba Gorimbo at lightweight. He now steps in as a late replacement to face Dricus du Plessis’ older brother Niel du Plessis.

Ngcobo made his EFC debut at EFC 49 last month, where he lost via TKO after a set of spirited exchanges with Mothibisi Buthelezi. He now answers the late replacement call-up to face Port Elizabeth’s Sindile Manengela on the prelim card at EFC 50.

These exciting bouts and five more take place on the prelim card ahead of the epic main card headlined by the welterweight title fight between Dricus du Plessis and Martin van Staden at the landmark EFC 50 event.

EFC 50: Du Plessis vs van Staden, takes place on Friday 17 June at the ultimate destination, Sun City. Tickets available at, all the main card bouts will be broadcast live on starting 20:00 (CAT) and delayed live on after the 20:30 (CAT) movie.
