HEATED CONFRONTATIONS KICKSTART EFC 100 FIGHT WEEK!
Johannesburg, South Africa – EFC 100 fight week began with a dramatic media day where title contenders squared-off in the Hexagon. Both Bantamweight Champion Nicholas Hwende and his challenger Nkazimulo Zulu maintained respect whilst exuding supreme confidence in expectant victory. Cole Henning faced his former teammate and fellow competitor for the interim lightweight title, Tshilumba Mikixi, where words were short but mean as brooding intent pervaded the EFC Performance Institute in front of the gathered press, giving an early indication of what is being touted as the fight of the night.
Musa Sethwape and Shannon van Tonder wasted no time in engaging in a fierce war of words with the latter promising a 60 seconds finish as Sethwape remained stoic under fire dismissing his foe’s threatening prediction with a disarming grin. Then in anticipation of an absolute war, both Stephan de la Rey and Billy Oosthuizen assured fight fans that they fully intend on meeting in the middle of the Hexagon and throwing down in the only way they know how – with complete abandon in what is bound to be a barnburner of a scrap! August Kayambala, Martin Gcinumkhondo, Luke Hendrikz, Pietie Coxen, Willem Smith and Bob Swanepoel were also on hand to assure the MMA planet, that being on the biggest fight night in the history of African combat sports is going to bring out the very best of each and every fighter. If Monday’s media day was anything to go by, it looks like EFC 100 on the 1st of December is going to be truly spectacular.
