Johannesburg (South Africa) – With just two days until the biggest MMA event in Africa, Claudio Teixeira has been forced to withdraw from EFC AFRICA 07 due to injury. Teixeira tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during training, becoming the third fighter to be substituted in the lead up to EFC AFRICA 07. With just 48 hours to go, it seemed unlikely that Lance Ceronio would have an opponent – until Wade ‘G.O.A.T’ Henderson stepped up.

“Everyone knows I never back down from a challenge,” said Henderson. “I made my name fighting big guys so this is nothing new to me. I’m always fit and ready in case something like this comes along so I don’t see myself at a disadvantage at all. Even though I’ve been fighting at middleweight recently, I’m 87kg right now so there is no weight disadvantage.”

“I trained with Lance many years ago, I know he has good hands, explosive power, good takedowns and wrestling ability, so I expect a full out war. Lance has everything to gain in this fight, but I’ve been craving the cage for months and I need to get back in front of the fans and give them the fight they deserve.”
