Calvert Going To War With The ‘Commander’

Johannesburg (South Africa) – EFC AFRICA 17 will showacse yet another exciting featherweight bout between Ashley Calvert (0-4) and Alain ‘Commander’ Ilunga (2-1), taking place at Carnival City on 23 November.

Calvert from Johannesburg favours his Jiu-Jitsu and is keen to tick off a win behind his name. “I have been very active in my training and it is going well. No injuries so far and after today I will step my training up a notch as well. It’s going to be a good fight and I am comfortable with my opponent,” says Calvert, who has faced a string of top opponents and is yet to taste victory.

Ilunga, the striking sensation from the Cape, backs up his lightning-fast blows with ever evolving grappling, and believes he has what it takes to win the fight against the more experienced Calvert. “I will make sure I am at my best. EFC AFRICA 17 will be a night to remember!” says Ilunga.

This featherweight match-up plus the other nine prelim bouts are broadcast exclusively to Nu Metro cinemas across South Africa.
