Feiteira Ready For Debut

Amanzimtoti’s own to enter the Hexagon at EFC AFRICA 23

Johannesburg (South Africa) – Nelson Feitei has been destroying the amateur ranks and is now ready to take the step up to the pro division. Making his debut at EFC AFRICA 23 he clashes with Kanyeba Anicet, the high-speed, crisp punching boxer from Congo.

Feitera is a multiple champion at amateur level with a record of 6-3. He trains out of Morne Swanepoel’s Team MMA in Amanzimtoti, an IT engineer who also coaches MMA.

“It’s been a dream of mine to fight at EFC AFRICA ever since I started competing,” said Feiteira, who had his first bout four years ago. “I didn’t expect it to come so soon, but now that it’s here I’m doing everything to make it count.”

Anicet will be entering the Hexagon for the third time. Experiencing a trial by fire debut against the far more experienced Boyd Allen at EFC AFRICA 19, Anicet has consistently shown high level, spirited striking. Training hard with renowned wrestling coach Jacques Rossouw has his ground game improving every session, making him a threat that grows tougher by the day.

“Anicet is incredibly dedicated,” said Rossouw. “He’s upped his ground training to double time. He’s taking down high level wrestlers in the gym now, he even put an armbar on me the other day. With the hard lessons he’s learned in his last two fights, he’s ready to put it all together.”

Feitera is an MMA fighter, beginning his training with straight MMA rather than transitioning from another discipline.

“I’m happy to fight anywhere,” he confirmed, “but I would say that the ground is probably my favorite place to be.”

On the back of two losses Anicet will be ready for full-scale war in his bid to retain his place on Africa’s greatest stage. Feiteira, with a champion’s experience behind him, will be a huge handful on the night.

This bout can be seen live at Carnival City, Johannesburg, or larger than life, in full HD, at selected Nu Metro cinemas throughout South Africa. Alternatively, stream Anicet vs. Feiteira live at efcafrica.tv from anywhere in the world.
