Johannesburg (South Africa) – Brendon Katz knows about injury; he’s been out of action with a detached retina for the past five months. Currently on the road to a comeback (01 May is in his sights), this morning he shared some of the intensity of what he’s been through in an article written for prettytuff.co.za.
“I hate sitting on my ass, and that’s what the doc told me to do, for 24 hours,” he said. “Eyes closed, on my bum, sleeping in sitting position. 24 hours. Did it. Then no rapid head movements for three weeks (so no running, skipping, nothing). Did it. Now, at one month post-op, I can resume training at full intensity, and it’s as though my eye was never injured to begin with.”
EFC inside information reveals that a high profile opponent has been signed to face Katz on 01 May, subject to him healing as planned.
“I’m pushing for 01 May,” said Katz. “My recovery’s on track. It just depends on the doctor. The fight they [EFC AFRICA] have planned will be an exciting challenge for me. I’m hungry to get in there.”
