Johannesburg (South Africa) – ONEPLAN, EFC AFRICA’s medical partner, have confirmed that they will be providing financial support to Booto Guylain and his family, after he was critically injured in his EFC AFRICA 27 bout on February 27.
Even though ONEPLAN’s cover only applies to circumstances where an athlete is confirmed to be disabled, ONEPLAN has elected to step in and provide cover to assist Guylain during this difficult time. In the short term they will be providing his family with income protection cover, until a clear picture of his injuries has been determined.
“We are very grateful that ONEPLAN have stepped in, we thank them for their support,” said EFC AFRICA president Cairo Howarth.
“We fully support MMA and the athletes, and are happy to be assisting Booto and his family through this,” said Michael Otten, the managing director of ONEPLAN. “Our thoughts are with him and his family.”
EFC AFRICA entered into a groundbreaking partnership with ONEPLAN in October 2013, to provide coverage for any athlete competing at an EFC AFRICA event that sustains a debilitating injury.
ONEPLAN is a leading health insurance company which offers affordable health coverage for more South Africans.
