Airtime For Madiba

Tumisang Madiba’s impressive performances earn him shot on main card against Pierre Botha

Tumisang Madiba celebrates his victory with a backflip off the top of the Hexagon

Johannesburg (South Africa) – After earning back-to-back performance bonuses, the undefeated Tumisang Madiba, training out of XKT in Springs, Johannesburg, has earned himself a shot on the EFC 34 main card against the Guts and Glory wrestling specialist, Pierre Botha.

Madiba has had a solid start in the EFC Hexagon. He defeated Mbulelo Swekile and Sizwe Mnikathi in his first two bouts, but it wasn’t just the wins that created such an impression on everyone watching his bouts, but rather his overall performances. The Springs local known for his tenacious standup has launched through the featherweight pack, and now has the world watching.

Pierre Botha, who is twin brother to Hanru, has competed in the spotlight numerous times. For wrestling, he received Junior and Senior Protea colors, gold at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Scotland, fourth place at the Spain Open in 2012, qualified for the Olympic Games in Finland and China 2012 and won bronze at the Africa Senior wrestling Champs when he was still a Junior. The pressure on him to continue to earn similar accolades in MMA is growing with every bout. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Lourens Botes, and has won 3 of his 5 outings in EFC, but the outcome of the clash between him and Madiba will most likely over shadow all his previous encounters.
