Allen vs Groth, 11 December

Johannesburg (South Africa) – Featherweight champion, Boyd Allen, has dominated the division and remained undefeated inside the Hexagon. Allen has never been known as the most vocal of athletes, always opting to let his technical prowess do the talking.

Considered the heavy favourite in his first title defence, Allen is confident in his ability but never one to underestimate his opponent. “He is nothing that I have not faced or been through before,” he stated, “But he is an explosive athlete with the will to win.”

“I’m feeling good, fit and ready to perform. I am looking forward to this opportunity to test myself,” claimed Allen. “This is the most important fight of my life, as every fight is to me. It is a chance to solidify all the hard work and dedicated training I have put in,” he added.

Allen has a very different outlook on this bout than most would presume. “I am not defending or fighting for a title,” he stated. “I am fighting to better myself and my team as an athlete.”

“Our preparation isn’t special, it is just correct,” Allen said. “We just put things together the right way.”

“Thank you for the chance to perform on such an awesome platform.” stated Allen. “Thank you to my team and all the likeminded people I’ve surrounded myself, thank you for the support and brutal honesty. Without that, this means nothing,” he concluded.
