Cape Town, South Africa – The milestone 40th EFC event will play host to a multitude of heavyweight bouts that are sure to shake up the division. Just added to the preliminary card, EFC veteran Wilhelm ‘Tiny’ Strauss will welcome debutant Steve ‘Soldier’ Nwosu to the Hexagon.
Fan favourite Strauss who is ironically named ‘Tiny’ has been out of action since September 2014 and been itching to get back into the Hexagon. Always vocal on social media, he has been hounding EFC matchmaker Graeme Cartmell for another bout. Training out Kombat Arena in Meyersdale it is fitting that Strauss will compete on the milestone event.
Strauss will face EFC debutant Steve Nwosu from Nigeria. Known simply as ‘Soldier’, Nwosu has built a name for himself on amateur circuits as an extremely strong but small heavyweight that is highly capable on the ground. Training out of Panther Fighting Arts in Cape Town, Nwosu has has a highly experienced team behind him. Having won most of his bouts via submission his ground game in MMA is proven, as an undefeated professional boxer, Nwosu will be very confident on his feet.
Nwosu stated upon signing for the fight, “I am looking forward to picking up Tiny, putting him on his back and ground and pounding him until he gives up. Once I have him on the ground I will make his life very unpleasant, I will grind away nonstop until the fight is mine!”
