Johannesburg, South Africa – It was recently announced that light heavyweight champion Norman ‘Chef’ Wessels was taking a year off from competition, which left number one contender Tumelo ‘The Truck’ Maphutha with two choices to either wait for his shot or to continue taking fights. ‘The Truck’ opted to do what he does best, which is to simply continue fighting.
Yesterday evening however; the last man to challenge the reigning champion, DRC’s Champion Dalcha, began calling out the number one contender Maphutha. His words were simple, yet the meaning haunting.
“I feel like towing ‘The Truck’.”
Maphutha is a proud and confident man and was quick to respond:
“This truck is an 18 wheeler buddy; it doesn’t get stuck, it is always on the move.”
Dalcha is known as a man of few words, yet he responded in his own eloquent way:
“I am the machine that can tow any truck and with ‘Chef’ inside.”
At this point it is unclear as to why Dalcha has decided to call out Maphutha now. However, even without a title on the line, this could be one of the biggest match-ups the light heavyweight division could ever see.
