Johannesburg, South Africa – This past weekend athletes and fans descended on EFC Gym Sandton for the official EFC 62 Media Day, not knowing that soon Yannick Bahati would deliver that slap that has since winged it’s way around the world.

Getting things started headlining athletes, Yannick BahatiDricus du PlessisNkazimulo ZuluSylvester ChipfumbuIgeu Kabesa and Pierre Botha participated in a heated press conference.

Answering questions from media about their coming fights, Bahati and Du Plessis consistently broke into arguments, highlighting their intense dislike for each other.

After the press conference fighters faced-off for cameras and fans. While all face-offs were intense, Bahati dialed the day to another level by slapping Du Plessis. Watch the ‘Slap that was heard around the world’ here:

Scheduled for an open workout, Bahati decided to leave the venue instead of training in front of the now hostile South African fans.
