KAYAMBALA FIGHTS TO STAY ON LIVE TV

Roedie Roets withdraws with health issues

Johannesburg, South Africa – EFC HQ recently received word from Roedie Roets that he is withdrawing from his scheduled EFC 82 bout against August Kayambala, citing health issues.

August would have been the perfect fight to get me back in the win column,” explained Roets. “But I’ve been battling health issues that have set me back in training and when I do show up, I’m putting on a spectacle, look for me on the December card!”

Kayambala came to notoriety in his EFC debut, earning Fight of the Night  against Caleb Ridley, he went on to execute a perfectly timed Heel Hook submission victory over BJJ specialist Warren King. EFC 82 is scheduled to be his third appearance in the organisation and first main card opportunity, the hunt is on for a formidable opponent.

“Roets is an exciting draw, he’s going to be great to watch after his stint in Phuket Top Team as their wrestling coach,” stated EFC VP talent Graeme Cartmell. “I’m happy to match Roets in December and get a replacement for Kayambala now. He is a prospect I’ve had my eye on since he threw Ridley around like a rag doll.”
