Fighters Biography
Background disciplines?
Muay Thai
Fight preparation?
6 days a week, all-round MMA for 3 hours a day.
When & why did you start martial arts training?
I started at the end of 2009. I’d always been sporty and my two brothers were into Muaythai. I didn’t particularly enjoy the standing and striking on its own, then when they started MMA I found I was well suited to it.
Tell us about your most memorable fight?
I went 9-1 as an amateur, which is an achievement I’m proud of. I also beat Dino Bertolis, who was supposed to be the next big thing! On paper, everyone had him winning easily, but it turned out to be a tough, controversial match. He caught me in a triangle choke in round three and says I tapped, but the video looks like me winning by ground and pound TKO.
What other interesting information can you tell us about yourself?
I work in construction and chill with friends and my girlfriend. I worked out that when I’m not working or training, I only have 20 hours a week to myself, so I try to make the most of those hours.
What do you enjoy about MMA?
I enjoy the physicality, hard training, fighting and personal tests involved. It’s great to improve and constantly learn.
