DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS

Official EFC 89 Weigh-in results and repercussions

The EFC 89 official weigh-in’s went down, behind closed doors at the EFC Performance Institute in JHB, South Africa, ahead of the EFC Flyweight championship fight between Nkazimulo Zulu and Luthando Biko.

After a highly anticipated build-up a number of surprising turn of events took place.

The former champion, Zulu missed making weight for his championship fight against Biko. After Biko made weight it was confirmed that the fight will go ahead, but only Biko stands a chance of winning the title. Should Zulu win, the EFC flyweight title will remain vacant.

Zwelibanzi Ngema was forced to pull out of his bout with Gift Walker due to COVID and remarkably South Africa’s Martin Qcinukmondo stepped in on weigh-in day to replace him.
